March on Washington 60th Anniversary: Women Leaders of the Movement Breakfast and Intergenerational Leadership Roundtable

The “March on Washington 60th Anniversary Women in the Movement ‘Celebrating Our Power’ Breakfast & Intergenerational Leadership Roundtable” was not only a commemoration but a call for continued action. Partnering with esteemed organizations such as the National Action Network, Black Voters Matter, Drum Major Institute, Power Rising, Sisters Lead Sisters Vote, Win With Black Women, and the King Center, this event united allies in the ongoing struggle for justice and equality.

This event was a tribute to the fearless women who played pivotal roles in organizing the historic 1963 March on Washington For Jobs and Freedom. Their determination and vision paved the way for change, yet their stories remained largely untold. This gathering aimed to bring those stories to light and celebrate the power of Black women’s leadership.

Our very own President, Holli Holliday, led a panel discussion during this insightful event. With her vast experience in advocating for underrepresented communities, she joined other leaders to explore how Black women can continue to drive change, both then and into the future.

We came together to commemorate this significant moment in history and celebrate the enduring power of Black women’s leadership. Together, we ensured that their stories and contributions were no longer hidden but boldly celebrated and embraced.
